OPSI-WebGUI: September 2026 Release Highlights

With the September 2026 release, OPSI-WebGUI makes everyday administration more efficient and convenient. This release focuses on better client visibility, faster ways to find information, easier bulk operations, and a more adaptable interface.

Let’s take a closer look at the most important improvements.

Client inventory and configuration

When inspecting a client, you can now review its Hardware and Software Inventory. The inventory status makes it clear whether data is available, has not yet been scanned, is empty, or may be out of date. In the software view, Microsoft KB updates can be shown or hidden, and a CSV exports follow the current filters and sort order for easier follow-up.

The Clients table also makes it easier to identify a client’s operating system. An OS icon appears next to the client ID, with details available on hover. Advanced filtering lets you filter clients by operating system, making it easier to find devices running a specific Windows or Linux version.

For common client settings, high-level switches under Clients > Attributes cover WAN mode, smart cache, install on shutdown, and health-check monitoring. The OPSI-WebGUI automatically applies the required OPSI parameters, so you do not need to configure them individually. You can also send a timer event directly to selected clients from the table.

Global search and advanced filters

The new Global Search provides a quick way to search across Clients, Products, and Servers directly from the top bar. Filters can be saved as favorites for quick access, and all active filters can be cleared from one place.

The new Advanced Filters let you narrow results using criteria relevant to the table you are working in:

• Servers: filter by server type, including Config Server and Depot Server.
• Clients: filter by reachability, operating system, last-seen time, failed products, and outdated products.
• Products: filter by installation status, failed action results, pending action requests, and unused products.

Advanced filters can be combined with regular table filters, and useful filter combinations can be saved as favorites for reuse in Global Search.

For tables with selectable items, a new eye icon lets you show only the selected items, making it easier to focus on a selection across a larger list.

Regular table filters also support case-sensitive, whole-word, and regular-expression matching when more precise filtering is needed. In Table Settings, you can choose whether a filter searches the primary column - such as product ID, client ID, or depot ID - or all columns.

Shortcuts and faster bulk operations

For familiar workflows, keyboard shortcuts reduce the need to switch between the keyboard and mouse. Press Ctrl + Shift + ? to view shortcuts for global actions, tables, clients, servers, products, and forms.

For example, Ctrl + Shift + S saves and executes product action requests, Ctrl + R refreshes table data, and Ctrl + Space selects a row.

For frequently repeated server tasks, Quick Commands in Admin > Terminal lets you save commands and run them again from the menu. If the terminal is disconnected, it automatically reconnects before executing the command.

The Clients table now supports multi-client actions through the action header dropdown. Select multiple clients and apply actions in one step, similar to the client quick actions in the Quick Panel.

For product actions, progress is shown in the main view, with results available once processing is complete. The results table lets you filter successful or failed actions and search for a specific client.

A more adaptable interface

Table Settings lets you choose the default detail-panel view and which row actions appear in the table, keeping the action column compact and less crowded. Other panel views remain available in the detail panel near the close button.

The OPSI-WebGUI remembers panel widths and group split sizes in the browser, so the layout can suit your workflow. Process-action settings are also preserved in the browser, remaining available after closing the dialog or refreshing the page.

The last selected clients and servers are also preserved when moving between standalone pages. Icons and counts for the client and server selection scope are shown on the Products button and in the panel title. They make it clearer which objects are currently selected.

Action request states are now easier to recognize with distinct colors throughout the interface.

Dropdowns can be opened with hover while still supporting clicks and keyboard controls. Server/Client Configuration and Product Properties keys can now be copied by selecting the text or using the copy button that appears on hover.

Client log filters and markers can be persisted in the URL, making filtered log views easier to save and revisit. Attribute, parameter, and product-property searches can also be preserved in URLs.

Performance, reliability, and security

The release also includes several behind-the-scenes improvements that make OPSI-WebGUI more performant, reliable and secure. Nuxt has been updated to version 4.5.2, including related security updates. SBOM generation and its security metadata have also been improved.
