opsi at KIXCONF 2025 in Chemnitz

On June 25–26, 2025, this year’s KIXCONF took place in Chemnitz – the major user conference centered around the open-source ITSM solution KIX. We at uib GmbH participated as a partner with our open-source client management system opsi and had the opportunity to engage in insightful conversations with users, developers, and partners.

Why opsi at KIXCONF?

The connection is obvious: both KIX and opsi are open-source solutions designed to make IT processes more efficient, transparent, and scalable – KIX in the field of IT service management (ITSM) and opsi in automated software deployment and client management.

Bringing the two solutions together opens up new opportunities. While KIX ensures structured service processing, opsi can work in the background to automatically install operating systems, distribute software, or carry out hardware inventory. Conversations with KIX users made it clear that these kinds of interfaces are likely to become even more relevant in the future.

Valuable conversations and new ideas

At the opsi booth, we had interesting discussions with participants who were interested in the possibilities of automated software deployment and integration into existing IT infrastructures. Some were already familiar with opsi from previous use or past projects, while others were introduced to it for the first time. For us, KIXConf was a great opportunity to gather feedback and take away ideas for future development.

Our takeaway

KIXConf was a thoroughly successful event for us. In addition to professional exchange, there was plenty of space for networking and exploring future collaborations. We’d like to thank the KIX team for the excellent organization and are already looking forward to the next edition!
